Born in Haarlem, this artist has had an exceptional multicultural childhood. New York, Italy, South America
and the Congo are just a couple of places where she was raised as a child.

The interest for painting came quite early through her mother (Barbara Gestel-Remmers) who attended the
Rijksacedemie in Amsterdam (fellow students were Karel Appel, Jan Sierhuis and Aad Veldhoen).
After several studies in the art of painting she decided to turn her passion into her profession.

After a successful start, she even succeeded in starting her own style of art called Liberism. This was first taken into the Dutch encyclopedia Dikke van Dale (13th edition) on the 27th of September 1999.

The result is several expositions at Gallery Dante (Amsterdam), Stadsschouwburg in Haarlem and abroad (Germany and Ibiza among others).

Besides painting on canvas, she also creates art on ceramics and tableware (custom made and also for tableware for ships)
